Learn more →Every relationship here starts with a free consultation — a short call to talk through what's going on, ask questions, and get a feel for how we work. You do not need to have it figured out first. If you already know who you'd like to see, book with them directly; if you don't, the consultation is where fit gets sorted.
The first session or two is mostly orientation: what brought you in, what you're carrying, what you want to be different. We'll talk about history and context, because symptoms usually make sense once you can see what they grew out of. Nothing is rushed toward a conclusion in week one.
Collaborative rather than prescriptive. We'll offer structure, ask direct questions, and name patterns as we see them — but the pace is set with you, not for you. Depending on what you need, sessions may draw on EMDR, attachment-focused work, parts work, nervous system regulation, or practical tools for coping and communication.
In-person sessions are at The Bloom Room, 324 Avenida de la Estrella, Suite B, in downtown San Clemente. Secure telehealth is available to anyone located in California. Walking sessions are an option with either clinician, and Ryan also offers golf sessions.
Standard sessions are 50 minutes. Individual therapy starts at $200 and couples and family therapy at $225, with a limited number of sliding scale spots. The practice is out of network and provides superbills for clients using out-of-network benefits. Full details are on the fees and FAQ page.
Underneath all of it is a conviction we write about at length elsewhere: that the hardest seasons are usually identity coming apart and being put back together, and that this is something a person can be accompanied through rather than fixed — we explore that at The Unfolding.
